The People’s Net has carried out a statistical study of scenic spot tourism income during Spring Festival. By the morning of February 12, Jiuhua Mountain topped the list with 440 million yuan ($72.4 million) from 411,600 tourists.
According to the list, three spots earned over 100 million yuan during Spring Festival: Jiuhua Mountain of Anhui province, Wuyi Mountain of Fujian province and Huangguoshu Waterfall of Guizhou province.
With travel becoming an increasingly integral part of mass consumption, DIY and self-driving tours have become a major mode of travel during the holiday. While the percentage of DIY tours in Nanjing city, Jiangsu province, is over 50, nearly 90 percent of tourists in Yangzhou city are choosing DIY self-driving trips. Many self-driving tour bases were filled to capacity, and parking lots for many spots were almost completely occupied by self-driven vehicles. In Ganzhou city, Jiangxi province, 70 percent of tourists are driving their own cars; in some tourist attractions the number even reached 90 percent.
