In the next six to seven years, Hefei will exploit its advantageous location and strive to become an important hub in the Eurasia international transport corridor, a national comprehensive transportation hub and one of the six transport hubs in the middle and lower reaches of the Yangtze River. The Hefei Comprehensive Transport Hub Development Plan 2014-2020 has already been approved by experts, according to the Hefei Development and Reform Commission.
During the twelfth "five-year plan" period, altogether 42 national comprehensive transport hubs will be built, of which Hefei is Anhui province's only representative location. These transport hubs will form an integral part of China's comprehensive transport system; they will be the transfer centers linking together multiple means of transportation for specific areas. During the end of the twelfth and for the whole thirteenth "five-year plan" periods, Hefei will further perfect its transport systems at all levels and improve the integrated construction of regional transport.
The Plan will be released after an experts' revision followed by the Hefei Party Committee's and Hefei government's approval.
