Fortune magazine and the Hay Group released a list of 2012 Global Most Admired Companies. Chinese companies are the highlight of the 2012 list with Lenovo as a model. Famous Chinese companies such as Huawei and China Mobile are also on the list.

Lenovo ranked twelfth on the most admired companies in the Asia-Pacific region. It is the only privately owned Chinese company on the list.

Lenovo is also ranked tenth on the computer industry list for the second time. Apple, Google and Amazon occupy the top three positions for the All-Star Most Admired Companies list.

The list is on behalf of the authority of the worldwide corporate reputation report. It is the Fortune magazine's most prestigious list that is released once a year. Fortune created a list of selected companies, including non-US companies in the Global Fortune 500 with revenues greater than $10 billion and non-US companies that run businesses in the United States. The executives, directors and analysts of the specific industry are invited to rate companies on nine attributes, including investment value and social responsibility. The companies with average scores ranked in the top 50 percent among all companies will be selected and listed in a descending order.

Lenovo has been the fastest growing manufacturer among the world top four PC makers for the ninth consecutive quarter by the third quarter of this year. It has achieved a market growth higher than the market average for the eleventh consecutive quarter.

Lenovo's global market share created a record high of 14 percent in the last quarter with more than 13 million shipments. The revenue was over $8.4 billion and the pre-tax profit reached $19.2 million.

Lenovo intends to achieve record high market shares and a quarter turnover by the third quarter of this year, despite the global hard drive shortage, said Yang Yuanqing, Lenovo's chairman of board and the chief executive officer.

He also said that Lenovo ranked first in the world business PC market and the consumer desktop market for the first time. The Lenovo smart phone market share also hit double-digits in China.

"Lenovo is confident in leading the industry. It has prospects in the development of the PC market. We believe the mobile Internet business will become the new growth engine for Lenovo," he added.
