A delegation from Montgomery County, in the US state of Maryland, led by County Executive Ike Leggett, visited Zhongguancun on Sept 24. Zeng Xiaodong, International Business Director of Zhongguancun met the delegation at the software park.

The delegation from Montgomery County visits the exhibition hall of the Zhongguancun Software Park on Sept 24.

Zeng gave a presentation about the current situation at the Zhongguancun Science Park, and the delegation then visited the exhibition hall of the Software Park and also the Sino-Israeli Technology Innovation Center.The delegation also visited Glodon Software Ltd and Sinovac Biotech Ltd and exchanged ideas with executives of the companies.

The two sides agreed to establish long-term cooperation, especially in the areas of biology and life sciences.

Montgomery County is the largest administrative area in Maryland, and it is home to the National Institute of Health (NIH) and the Federal Drug Administration (FDA).

The county is known for its achievements in fields such as biology, medicine, green energy and communications. It is also the country’s area with the highest density of Ph.D holders, due to the county’s predominance in the fields of education and scientific research.
