Policy recommendations on an orderly development of the wild-life based industry

Abstract:
The wild-life based industry has been growing rapidly in recent years. The development of this industry is of significant importance in China; however lacking?knowledge on this particular industry and defects in the industrial management has lead to negative impacts on the ecological environment and public health. It is suggested that an overall planning should be set up for the industry combined with restructuring measures and policy support. The basic policies should be improved for the scope and means of utilization and identification techniques, following the guiding principles of controlling scope, restricting species, strict management and classified utilization, in order to guide this industry into a healthy path.
