Abstract: Following President Xi Jinping’s thought on ecological civilization and the concept that lucid waters and lush mountains are invaluable assets, Yunnan province has strived to become one of the front-runners relating to the realization of ecological civilization in the country as President Xi has required. To build itself into the most beautiful province, Yunnan has brought benefits to the people through cultivating a sound ecological environment, established an ecological industrial system, accelerated the nurturing of ecological industries, and maximized the value of ecological products with beneficial results. The typical examples for value realization in Yunnan are the Hani terraced fields in Yuanyang county and the ecological products in Puer city. The implications drawn from the experience of Yunnan in exploring value realization of ecological products are mainly as follows. First, a series of mechanisms need to be put in place and fleshed out in terms of the accumulation, development and compensation of ecological products so as to ensure the development. Second, the multiple functions of agriculture in production, ecology and life need to be given their due role and merged into a coexistent system.
