Fujian province's Civil Affairs Dept reports that they plan to develop cross-Straits cooperation in pensions by building a demonstration site, this year，for Fujian and Taiwan, Xinhuanet reported on Jan 30, as a part of the province's plans for accelerated pension service industry development, and for products for the aged, and other pension finance products.

The province plans to allow for the transfer of pensions from Taiwan, and to introduce prominent pension businesses and has some innovative pension plans that combine State-owned and private efforts. Some cities, such as Longyan, Quanzhou, and Fuzhou already handle Hong Kong and Taiwan investments in old-age care facilities.

The province says it is encouraging more prominent enterprises to develop into groups, and financial institutions, such as banks, and insurance and security companies to develop more financial products for the aged.
