A delegation from the Taiwan Affairs Office of the Fujian Provincial Government visited the Pingtan Comprehensive Pilot Zone (PCPZ) on Dec 29 to investigate its development.

Exciting news such as Chinese President Xi Jinping’s inspection of Pingtan and Pingtan being included in Fujian’s free trade zone (FTZ) will lead to a number of business opportunities for Pingtan, said Wu Guosheng, the Office’s director.

The Office will help Pingtan play a bigger role in cross-Straits cooperation, especially in attracting young Taiwanese professionals to start up their careers in Pingtan. It will also study new policies benefiting Pingtan’s FTZ construction, he added.

Pingtan hopes the Office can make innovations in cross-Straits communications, and help to land more projects, said Li Dejin, director of the PCPZ’s administrative committee.
