An inspection of elevator security has been carried out recently in some residential as well as business areas in the city of Jinjiang, Fujian province.

During the inspection, most of the elevators run smoothly, found well management and also that it get checked regularly. While few of them still has some problems including repair rate and posting elevator security warning sign as prescribed in rules. Problems discovered in the inspection were requested to be resolutely corrected and carry out security work seriously. It has been instructed that the elevators under repair should pass the qualified inspection before putting into service.

Reporters from Jinjiang Economy News also learnt that Jinjiang would start a campaign later to inspect all the elevators' safety from installation to maintenance across the city, which will include passenger elevators, freight elevators, escalators and automatic sidewalks. These elevators in residential, public, enterprises and commercial areas are the key areas to inspect.

The inspection hopes to perfect the management and efficient emergency rescue system, and establish a sound long-term supervision system on security safety of elevators in Jinjiang.
