Patent fillings in Fujian stood at 166,610 in 2018, up by 30.08 percent year-on-year, local authorities said.

According to the Fujian provincial IPO, 98.8 percent of the patents were applied for online, the nation's highest ratio.

Among them, invention patent fillings reached 37,216, a rise of 40.65 percent over last year.

In 2018, 102,622 patents including 9,858 invention patents were approved in the province, registering increases of 50.24 percent and 13.08 percent respectively.

As of the end of last year, invention patents registered in Fujian totaled 38,522, which means there were 9.85 invention patents for every group of one million people in the province.
