Jiang Liangping, deputy general manager of China Huadian Corporation, visited the Pingtan Comprehensive Pilot Zone in Fujian province on Nov 29. Gong Qinggai, director of the zone's administrative committee, met with company guests.

Gong briefly introduced Pingtan's opening-up and development. He said the central government decided to develop Pingtan into a modern and international comprehensive pilot zone to promote the integration of economy, society and culture on both sides of the Taiwan Straits.

"Pingtan has unlimited business opportunities. Huadian Corporation values its prospects and will strengthen the power of a preparatory group for projects in Pingtan. We are launching more projects in various industries that will settle in the pilot zone," Jiang said.

"Ocean energy development is a national strategy. Pingtan is home to many key marine industries thanks to its geographic advantages. It hopes to achieve intelligent ecological and low-carbon development. Huadian Corporation has advantages in new and clean energy and we expect to use our advantages to participate in Pingtan's development," Jiang added.

Fujian Huadian, affiliated with China Huadian Corporation, will invest in nine projects in Pingtan in accordance with a strategic framework agreement between China Huadian Corporation and the pilot zone's administrative committee. The projects cover sectors such as new energy, high-end manufacturing, logistics and shipping.
