The 2014 PKRA (Professional Kiteboard Riders Association) Kite World Cup (Oct 24-29) will kick off in Pingtan on Oct 24. It will be the second time the event takes place in Pingtan.

More than 80 athletes from over 20 countries will compete in various sections, including free-style surfing, rotary racing and two-way slab racing. According to Zhai Dahui, chairman of the Pingtan Kiteboard Association, this year several top kiteboarders have enrolled in this year’s competition, which will make the competition more fierce and exciting.

The PKRA Kite World Cup is a top-level kiteboard competition and has taken place 11 times in various countries.
