A total of 63 civil servants in Pingtan county, Fujian province, were recently removed from their posts for freeloading, ptnet.cn reported.

The sacked people were absent from their workplaces while claiming salaries from government departments.

Pingtan will crack down on freeloading at government agencies in a bid to eradicate the problem, said Lin Gongmiao, an official with the local Party working committee.
