The waiting period to claim a tax rebate in Pingtan, Fujian province has been cut from 20 days to only 2 days, thanks to new policies by the local tax bureau, ptnet.cn reports on May 13.

Haixia High-Speed Shipping Co became the first beneficiary of the tweaked policy, which adopts differentiated management on export enterprises based on their assets, credit rating and internal risk control measures.

Starting from March 1, companies that perform well in the above fields will enjoy a simplified examination on claims of tax rebates, said the local tax bureau.

The Haixia High-Speed Shipping Co. was moved from second to first class following the adjustment, which led to a faster tax rebate.

“Previously we had to prepare loads of paperwork to reclaim tax rebates. Now we can proceed the tax rebate using digital data. That is definitely more convenient,” said Wen Jinmei, an accountant with the company.
