A commercial pedestrian street in Hechi, Baima Street boasts over 180 stores selling clothes, shoes and jewelry. The street is also home to small but distinctive dinning and coffee shops. The busiest section in Hechi city, the street is a perfect shopping spot.

A renovation took place here in 2002, paving the street with marbles and decorating European-styled buildings on both sides. An investment of over 10 million yuan ($1.5 million) on improving the greenery, fire-fighting and environment protection facilities has brought huge benefits, and seen the revenue increasing tenfold in five years.
