Guiyang city in Guizhou is set to be the pilot zone for the issue of citizen cards throughout the province.
According to the Department of Human Resources and Social Security, the card will create a convenient payment system for a range of services such as public transport, taxies, parking, borrowing books from the libraries and visiting local gardens, as well as keeping social security records.
