To further prevent and control the novel coronavirus outbreak, Guiyang, capital of Southwest China's Guizhou province, requires that all passengers register with their real name before taking public transport from Feb 10.
Passengers should scan the QR code posted at every subway station, subway carriages or buses with their smart phones and register with valid contact information.
Station staff members and drivers will help passengers to register on smart phones or take pictures of ID cards for those passengers without smart phones. All passengers, expect people with senior transportation cards, should register with their real name or they will not be allowed to take public transit.
All personal information will be stored on dedicated servers to prevent information leaks. Subway stations will promote real name registration with broadcasted messages and posters alerting passengers to scan the QR code.
Passengers taking taxis are encouraged to make mobile payments such as Alipay and WeChat or show valid ID cards when paying in cash and allowing taxi drivers to record their personal information. Taxi drivers are allowed to refuse passengers without valid ID cards or who have not registered their real names.
