CGGC wins the 2009 CSR Gold Prize for China International Contractors

On Nov 13, 2009, China International Contractors Association announced the result of the 2009 China International Contractors CSR Award, and CGGC won the gold prize for the outstanding contribution by its performance of the corporate social responsibility in the international market over the past years.
In recent years, CSR has attracted extensive attention at home and abroad. The ability to perform CSR has not only become an important element of the soft strength and competitiveness of an enterprise, but also an essential indicator for assessing an enterprise in the international community.
CGGC has insisted on rewarding the society and actively performed the social responsibility while rapidly expanding its international business in the past few years. In addition, when implementing the strategy of going global, CGGC has kept being honest and creditworthy, and considered the interests of all stakeholders, thus winning a good reputation from both the domestic and the international community. It is because of all these factors that the company can stand out from so many large enterprises participating in the rating, and won the CSR gold prize.
When contracting foreign projects, CGGC always pursues to build every project into a premium one for the client; respects and protects the environment, energetically implements the localization strategy, and has created more than 10,000 jobs for the local community.
The company takes an active part in public welfare activities in the host countries, including donating money and goods to the disaster-hit regions and the impoverished groups, building roads, making wells to supply water and providing free medical services. These measures have been warmly welcomed by the governments and people in different countries. Such practice of sharing the social responsibility with local governments has enhanced the company’s reputation and influence, and earned the company a greater market share.
So far, CGGC has vaulted to come among the world’s top 100 international contractors from the 154th place in 2005. It has become one of Chinese international enterprises that have seen the fastest rise of the ranking, and expanded its international market to a broader range. Besides consolidating and developing the markets in the neighboring countries and Africa, CGGC has also made an active effort to develop markets in the South America, the South Pacific Region, the Middle East, the Central Asia and other regions, and reaped much there.
