TBM equipment of NJ project ready for installation

On June 6, the NJ project in Pakistan saw successful delivery of all component parts of TBM equipment, indicating the beginning of the TBM equipment installation.
The NJ project was commenced on Jan 30, 2008. According to the contract, the first unit would be put into operation on June 30, 2015. However, the project was postponed due to delayed land acquisition, relocation of residents, and construction of power supply and roads leading to the project site. The application of the TBM equipment will speed up the construction progress. On March 16, 2011, the client signed a TBM purchase contract with Herrenknecht AG of Germany, and on Feb 19, 2012 all master units of TBM were delivered to the construction site.
According to the plan, the CGGC would deliver the component parts on June 10, complete the installation of two TBM equipment and supporting facilities on July 25, put the two sets of TBM equipment into trial excavation on July 28 and Aug 18, respectively, and put them into operation on September 5.
