Reform and opening-up
In 2013, Wuxi energetically streamlined administration, delegated power to the low levels, and carried forward the state and provincial requirements on cancellation or authorization of 334 administrative approvals.
Wuxi accelerated the adjustment of State-owned capital distribution and incorporated Wuxi Cultural Tourism Group, Jiangsu Assets Management Corporation and Wuxi Financial Investment Corporation.
Wuxi canceled or exempted 74 enterprise fees, reduced 26 fee standards and realized social aggregate financing of 192.1 billion yuan.
Wuxi deeply pushed forward the rural property system reform, completed registration of rural collectively-owned land and issued the corresponding certificates.
To echo the development of Shanghai Free Trade Zone, Wuxi actively applied for and explored the construction of an airport-centered free trade park.
Wuxi High-tech Zone Comprehensive Bonded Zone passed the examination and was put into operation.
Snnan Shuofang International Airport extended to nine international routes and 34 domestic routes, bringing the annual passenger throughput to 3.59 million trips, an increase of 10.9 percent over last year.
Wuxi’s total export-import volume hit $70.373 billion.
It introduced 26 projects with a single investment of above $100 million and a total investment of $4.227 billion. The paid-in foreign capital hit a record of $3.339 billion.
Its service outsourcing industry completed an amount of $8.63 billion, a year on year increase of 35 percent. The offshore outsourcing amount $4.58 billion, an increase of36.7 percent over last year, taking the lead in the province and the country as well.
The number of its international sister cities has reached 46.
Urban and rural construction
The construction of Taihu NewCity, Mashan International Tourist Island and the Ancient Grand Canal Scenic Belt was speeding up. The development of key regions including Jiangyin Lingang New City, Yixing Donggui NewCity, Xidong district and Huishan district made outstandingachievements.
The Subway Line 1 and Line 2 have been put into operation. The Wuxi Section of the Nanjing-Hangzhou High Speed Rail was completed and opened into service. China’s first safe water quick supply channel was put into use.
Environmental preservation across the city’s 9,079 villages was completed.
