The "2016 Love All Around" charity conference was held at the Shazhou Hotel, Zhangjiagang on July 12. Zhu Lifan, Party secretary of the city, handed out the fourth Zhangjiagang Charity Award and arranged charitable work to be carried out in the second half of the year.

Zhangjiagang has won several national charity awards and has taken great steps to integrate its charity resources and social assistance to aid those in need.

According to the government, the charity fund established by CPC members in Zhangjiagang has donated more than 40 million yuan ($6 million) to over 7,600 people in need by the end of 2015.

Besides honoring the individuals and organizations that have contributed to charitable causes, Zhu also called for joint efforts to build a more organized and transparent charity system.

The next step will focus on strengthening the role of charity both in public relief and moral construction, Zhu said.
