Doctors soothing child before surgery become popular on WeChat

When some photos of two doctors, in the city of Changchun, Jilin province, trying to calm a 7-year-old child on his way into an operating room for surgery, appeared on China's social media, they became a real hit, one local newspaper reported on Oct 29.

The photos show Yan Zhenfei and Zhang Taolei doing their best to calm the boy down by using a cartoon video on a cell phone, then explaining that the boy kept crying in the surgery room, so they held him and showed him his favorite cartoon which smoothed him and allowed the surgery to proceed. The doctors' action touched many netizens and won their praise.
