Jimo Longquan Automobile and Parts Zone is the only zone focused on the automobile and parts industry. It focuses on the R&D, production and sales of automobiles and auto parts, aiming to build the biggest automobile and auto parts manufacturing research and development base in the Shandong Peninsula.

The zone is located at the intersection of the Wuwei expressway and Yanqing highway. It has an area of 33.69 square kilometers and a core area of 8.53 square kilometers. The core area’s planning structure is “one center, one axis, two areas”, namely a multi-service center, an economic axis along the Yanqian highway, and parts and automobile areas.

Infrastructure construction

The zone's infrastructure construction features 11 new roads and four rebuilt roads. The roads feature drainage, water supplies, greening, lighting, power, heat, gas and low-voltage joint piping. The construction project begins on October 1,2009, and will last 20 months.

So far the zone has completed 11 asphalt roads, 260,000 square kilometers of hardened roads, 40,000 meters of water-discharging pipeline, 11,000 meters of water pipeline, 5,100 meters of gas pipeline, 10,000 meters of heat-supply pipeline, 16,000 meters of communications circuits, and 7,000 meters of power-supply pipeline.

Project introduction

There are 34 projects in the zone with a total investment of 9.73 billion yuan. To date, 14 projects have begun, 11 of which have completed construction covering an area of 300,000 square kilometers. Four projects have been put into operation with an investment of 1.8 billion yuan. The settled projects have established a relatively complete industrial chain, featuring main products and processes such as: car assembly, engine systems, automotive chassis systems, inside and outside parts, car body, automobile lights and numerical control processing machinery.
