Qingdao Startup Street, on Ningxia Road, Laoshan district, opened on Dec 2, according to the Qingdao Daily.

Dai Xiaoxiang, 23, was the first maker in the community. His social network app has recruited 12 employees.

Dai said that he chose Qingdao Startup Street because of its entrepreneurship ecosystem, in addition to the environment and atmosphere.

"In the community, we have preferential policies, receive capital, and share ideas with like-minded entrepreneurs," he said.

Qingdao Startup Street, with a floorage of 15,000 square meters, consists of four complexes.

The Reception Hall functions as a service center, covering business registration, human resources, project applications, investment, financing, accounting, advertisement, law works, patents, intellectual property, training and counseling.

Currently, it has attracted leading service agencies, such as, the investment-oriented professional incubator Binggo Cafe, the website iheima.com helping startups connect with venture capital, and the Link Startup Community providing co-working space.

"Many organizations were introduced from Beijing. They will appeal to investors and entrepreneurship mentors and mobilize resources to serve makers and entrepreneurs on the platform with full-fledged incubators," said Qin Yijun, president of the Street's operating company, as well as one of the initiators of the Zhongguancun Entrepreneurship Street in Beijing.

Laoshan district, in southeast Qingdao, mapped out its plans with Binhai Innovation Avenue, Jinzhu Entrepreneurship Street, Qingdao Startup Street, Qingdao International Innovation Park and Qingdao International Maker Community.

Now, Laoshan district is consulting with four units to build the Qingdao International Maker Community.

It has set up Qingdao's first venture capital guiding incubator, and joined hands with Haier Group in maker space projects.

Laoshan district is striving to incubate a sound entrepreneurial environment, by strengthening support in policies, industries, space and manpower.
