People in Pudong New Area of Shanghai can enjoy a special Mid-Autumn Festival treat at the area's Aurora Museum on Sept 16.

The museum, designed by Japan's Tadao Ando, is home to Chinese artifacts, Buddhist sculptures, jade and porcelain ware, and stone inscriptions, across a number of dynasties.

The museum will host a free cultural feast for visitors, who can admire precious cultural relics and art works, listen to classic music as well as enjoy the full moon.

The event is part of the museum's project named Friday Night Out for White-Collars, which aims to introduce Chinese history and culture to more people.

There is a limit of 100 visitors who are allowed to enter the museum for free. Those wanting to go can make a reservation at the museum's official website (www.auroramuseum.cn/en/).

The Mid-Autumn Festival falls on the 15th day of the eighth lunar month, which is Sept 15 this year. The festival is celebrated when the moon is believed to be at its biggest and fullest. To the Chinese, a full moon is a symbol of prosperity, happiness, and family reunion.
