Shanghai Sheshan National Tourist Resort is noted for its sea of bamboo growing in its Sheshan Mountain and Tianma Mountain areas.

Much fun is to be had during activities or tours related to bamboo throughout the region, such as the annually held “Sheshan Lansun Festival” where you may get the luxury of digging out bamboo shoots, tasting dishes prepared with authentic and fermented bamboo shoots and breathe bountiful oxygen produced by massive bamboo groves all around.

The 16th Shanghai Sheshan Lansun Festival will be held this year in Sheshan National Forest Park and Tianmashan (Heaven Horse Mountain) Park from March 27 to April 5.

Bamboo shoot digging will run during two time ranges, the morning and the afternoon. The morning series goes from 10:00 and only allows 50 participants to be admitted into the field for an hour. The afternoon series begins at 13:30.
