Wang Wenbao, deputy to the 13th National People's Congress and chairman of Shanxi Tourism Investment Group, suggested improving and further implementing a paid vacation policy system, during the annual legislative session in Beijing.
Wang noted that the domestic tourist attractions are always crowded when the golden weeks and legal holidays fall, which indicates the paid vacation system is not well implemented and increases risks to public safety.
He put forward suggestions that supporting laws and policies for the paid vacation system should be issued. Independent arbitration institutions and a discipline mechanism for infringement of paid vacation rights should be established, better serving workers.
A more flexible paid vacation pattern can be explored, such as combining weekends with annual leave to increase vacation times, he added.
