About Dongshan campus

The Dongshan campus in Shanxi University has a total planning area of just over 133 hectares. Construction of the campus will be divided into two phrases.

The first phase of the campus will cover an area of about 100 ha, with a planned floor area of 811,000 square meters comprising the above-ground construction area of 730,081 sq m and underground construction area of 79,919 sq m. The green ratio of the campus, which is designed to handle 23,000 students, will be 35.72 percent of the total.

Construction of the facilities will involve the teaching and experimental buildings of the Academy of Sciences, the College of Environmental Studies, the School of Electric Power, the School of Architecture, the School of Software, the Public Teaching Building, a playground, a gymnasium, student apartments, canteens, as well as outdoor sports venues.

Further construction of the campus will include a Graphic Information Center, Student Activity Center, the Chemistry and Foundation College, School of Economics and Management, the School of Political Science and Law, the School of Information Engineering, as well as international students and foreign experts buildings and a school hospital.

The second phase involves just over 33 ha of reserved development land and preparations are currently underway to start land acquisition procedures.
