Performers in the large-scale original musical Xiao Lang Sean (Sean the Little Wolf) take to the stage at the launch ceremony of Tan’an’s first Children’s Cultural and Art Festival on July 1.

Kids in Tai'an won't be bored over the school summer holidays thanks to the launch of the city's first Children's Culture and Arts Festival on July 1, promising to entertain as well as educate younger generations.

Jointly sponsored by the publicity department of the Tai'an municipal party committee and the municipal education bureau, the festival aims to get kids excited about culture and the arts, boost creativity, and encourage young ones to rise to their full potential.

The festival, which runs until the end of this year, will feature children's theatre performances, talks given by actors and theatre experts, an essay contest and even auditions for young actors.

The organizing committee will invite dramatic arts experts to discuss improving better family education for the arts and theatre.

During the launch ceremony, the large-scale original musical Xiao Lang Sean (Sean the Little Wolf) was performed to great acclaim from the audience.

The classic Pinocchio will be performed by a provincial art troupe on July 5, which is guaranteed to entertain the local children.
