The Urumqi Economic and Technological Development Zone in Toutunhe district of Urumqi, Xinjiang Uygur autonomous region, launched a new e-commerce service provider on May 22.
At the opening ceremony in Toutunhe district, Li Guanghui, a member of the Standing Committee of the city of Urumqi, delivered a speech by saying that huimin.cn would integrate the city's industries, promote the development of small to medium sized enterprises and speed up industrial transformation.
Zhao Sufei, general manager of huimin.cn, also spoke to those present at the ceremony. Zhao explained that Urumqi people can receive goods at home by sending orders to supermarkets through their website.
Urumqi has 15,000 supermarkets and 2,000 have signed up with huimin.cn. According to Zhao, the website will cover 5,000 supermarkets in the next three years. In addition to being able to order general merchandise from supermarkets, people will also be able to pay their utility bills and recharge their transportation cards on the website.
The establishment of huimin.cn is expected to bridge the gap between Xinjiang products and customers and help enterprises expand their sales channels.
Huimin.cn was founded in 2012 and is headquartered in Beijing. It is an e-commerce enterprise engaging in providing e-commerce services, including general merchandise, fruit delivery and financial payment. With thousands of supermarket to choose from, the website acts as a mediator between supermarkets and residents. It has also established a distribution network between supermarkets and manufacturers.
