Recently, the "Yunnan Provincial Tourism Regulations" were approved by the eighth session of the 12th Yunnan Provincial People’s Congress’ Standing Committee, and will be officially implemented from May 1.

Following the promulgation of the "Tourism Law of the People's Republic of China" in 2013, this provincial regulation was the first local tourism regulation to be promulgated and implemented after its revision.

The draft of Yunnan’s Provincial Tourism Regulations has gone through a two-year revision. Some regulations of Yunnan characteristics were drawn up based on Yunnan’s tourism. These regulations highlighted Yunnan’s border tourism development, tourism portfolio insurance, and the legal rights of tourism practitioners.

These regulations will provide a more all-round and effective legal protection for Yunnan’s tourism development.

Duan Yueqing, the director of Yunnan Provincial Tourism Development Committee, said the implementation of Yunnan Provincial Tourism Regulations was a significant event for Yunnan’s tourism industry. It is a cheerful step further to promote Yunnan tourism based on laws.
