Yunnan held an international standard dance competition from Oct 2 to 3 as a preliminary for the 2017 national ballroom dance tournament.

The contest was organized by the Yunnan Youth Ballroom Dancing Association and the Yunnan International Folk Dance Association.

When the competition results are known the sponsorship will fund one or two of the top three dancing groups to participate in the national tournament and some international dancing contests organized by the World Dance Council.

The dancers were divided into several different groups including a professional group, a group of teenage elites and Latin dancers.

The competition aims to discover excellent dancers, strengthen ties among different dancing training institutions and promote communication between Latin and modern dance groups.
