A conference to evaluate high-tech enterprises at Kunming National Hi-Tech Industries Development Zone was held from June 17-18.

Twenty-seven enterprises applied for high-tech accreditation. The zone invited 20 experts from four areas—electronic information, new materials, biological pharmaceuticals, and industrial high-tech transformation—to make up the jury. They evaluated these companies based on four aspects: intellectual property rights, research and development costs, high-tech products, and the marketability of research achievements. 26 enterprises passed the evaluation and were granted high-tech status.

The zone puts a great emphasis on both the training and accreditation of high-tech enterprises, in order to improve their research, development, and competitive abilities.
