The official English website of the Kunming Hi-Tech Zone was awarded the "2014 Most Internationalized Chinese Government Website", ranking third among hundreds of websites at district level, following those of Shanghai Liujiazui Finance District and Changsha County in Hunan province.

The website, initiated by the administrative committee of the Kunming Hi-Tech Zone and designed and maintained by Chinadaily.com.cn, officially went online in June 2014. It presents the Zone's economic development, investment opportunities, foreign exchange and cooperation and people's daily lives there.

The news on the website has been reposted by media and websites in the USA, Singapore and Israel, to name but a few.

The evaluation of the government official websites was held by the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology, mainly examining the transparency of information, public service quality, communication with users and website management.
