Bozhou/Shouxian/Fengyang/Hefei 6-day Tour

Route summary

Visit Bozhou city -- "a famous?tourist destination?to the north of the Yangtze River and a gateway between China’s south and north", "a city of medicine" and "a city of liquor";

Shouxian -- the hometown of Chu Culture and the birthplace of Chinese tofu;

Fengyang -- the hometown of flower drum, the birthplace of the first emperor of the Ming Dynasty Zhu Yuanzhang and the birthplace of the household responsibility system;

Visit Hefei?-- an ancient city with a history of two thousand years, one of the top four garden cities in China and one of the top four science and education bases in China; Taste the local food –health foods in Bozhou, a tofu feast in Huainan, local delicacies in Sanhe and Anhui style food;

Itinerary

Day 1: Hefei/Bozhou

Hotel pickup and transfer to the state-level historical and cultural city of Bozhou. Visit the "Underground Great Wall"-[Cao Cao Underground Military Tunnel], the elegant [Huazu Shrine] and the "Treasure of Central China"-[Huaxi Building (or Engraved Drama Stage)]. After all that sightseeing, sit down to a healthy evening meal filled with ingredients with medicinal properties.

Day 2?Bozhou/Huainan

Visit [China Chinese Medicinal Material Market], before having breakfast and then continuing on by bus to Guoyang - the hometown of Lao-Tse. Visit [Lao-Tse Temple] and [Heavenly Peace Palace], before finally entering Huainan after dinner for an evening’s rest.

Day 3?Huainan/Shouxian/Huainan

Take the bus to Shouxian, a famous historical and cultural city in China and the capital of the ancient Shouchun State. After breakfast visit the ancient battlefield at [Bagong Mountain], scene of the Battle of Fei River and have tofu feast for lunch. Visit the millennial [Ancient City Wall], [Bao'en Temple] and [Pearl Spring], before returning to Huainan.

Day 4?Huainan/Fengyang/Chuzhou

Go to Fengyang county and visit the [Imperial Mausoleum of the Ming Dynasty], [Longxing Temple], [Ancient City of Zhongdu] and [Drum Tower]. Go to Chuzhou in the afternoon and visit [Langya Mountain].

Day 5?Chuzhou/Hefei

Return to Hefei in the morning, visit [Baogong Memorial Temple] and the historic site of the Three Kingdoms [Ancient Crossbow Platform]. Travelers then have free time on [Huaihe Road Pedestrian] before being picked up and returned to the hotel for a rest.

Day 6?Hefei/Sanhe town/Hefei

Go to the ancient water town of [Sanhe] by bus for a chance to appreciate the town’s ancient streets, bridges and city walls. Enjoy characteristic local foods before returning to Hefei to visit the Anhui Miniature Attraction Garden [Huiyuan Garden].

End of the trip.
