Liangjiang New Area (LNA) is expected to invest 70 million yuan ($11.3 million) to develop an inner-river ecological landscape zone in Longxing Industrial Park, according to the LNA administrative committee.

Liangjiang New Area, a national development zone, is working on building an ecological landscape zone. The Yulin River landscape project, located in Longxing Industrial Park, has so far finished a 300-meter sample landscape. The first phase of the project, which measures 830 meters with an average width of 70 meters, will be completed within the year.

The Yulin River landscape project will cost roughly 70 million yuan, cover an area of nearly 200,000 square meters and span 3 km.

The sample landscape has been constructed along the Yulin River, featuring various varieties of plants. There is not only a pavement, but also a bicycle lane.

The Yulin River landscape focuses on ecology and aims to construct an exemplary river landscape. It will fully embody environment protection and sustainable principles, providing society with a base for ecological education.

Ecological civilization construction has had a direct bearing on the life of citizens. Liangjiang New Area will step up the pace to advance ecological construction, pay extra attention to protecting natural landscapes, and build Liangjiang’s unique ecological system, said officials from Liangjiang New Area.

Figures from Liangjiang New Area show that per capita public green area will reach 15 square meters after the construction of parks like Longwan Forest Park by 2015.
