On July 2, Liangjiang Headquarters Intelligent and Ecological City at Longxing Industrial Park of Liangjiang New Area was launched. The project’s pattern is “Intelligent City plus Ecological City”. Enterprises can enjoy not only eight application clusters, including industry cloud service, intelligent environment-protecting water-saving system and intelligent travel, but also the biggest preferential policy and special funds support.

According to Jiang Songchao, executive deputy general manager of the Longxing park, as the first batch of national trial cities, Liangjiang New Area will push forward the construction of an intelligent city, in which the Liangjiang Headquarters Intelligent and Ecological City is a key project.

“Liangjiang Headquarters Intelligent and Ecological City lies in the core zone of Longsheng block in the Liangjiang New Area, Longxing Industrial Park, covering an area of 1.3 square kilometers, with total investment of over 6 billion yuan($968.1 million) and total scale of over 12 billion square meters.” Jiang said, adding that, according to the planning goal of the Liangjiang New Area intelligent city project, the public information platform will be completed in October 2014.

The whole project is estimated to take two years. “Before December 2015, seven applications and demonstrations will be completed. At the moment, 7 billion square meters of the first stage has been completed.”

The construction of Liangjiang Headquarters Intelligent and Ecological City is mainly conducted under the notion of “intelligence plus nature”. The project will create one center, two platforms and eight application functions, which are one intelligent city operation managing center, two IT base installation platform and application supporting sharing platform, and eight application functions, including public service, industry cloud service, intelligent environmental protection and water-saving system, intelligent urban facilities management, intelligent travel, intelligent landscape, intelligent city security and intelligent energy management.

Besides the regional advantage of convenient transportation, the project also has many preferential tax and policy advantages. Jiang Songchao said enterprises can not only get tax preference for income tax, business tax and added-value tax, but also preferential policies like special funds support and rent reductions.
