Home improvement giant B&Q China signed a contract with the Liangjiang New Area (LNA)'s Lianglu-Cuntan Tariff Bonded Zone to set up its regional headquarters in the bonded zone, local media reported on Sept 7.

B&Q China, owned by UK-listed Kingfisher, will open its flagship store and build a settlement center and southwestern distribution center in LNA.

Wu Duqing, president of B&Q China, said that Chongqing residents can then not only purchase high-quality building materials and home improvement products, but also experience the changes and conveniences that intelligent technologies bring to people's lives.

B&Q China will set up an O2O sales model, as well as products and services across Chongqing. It will launch a series of creative furniture sets on its online e-commerce platform and organize consumer activities at its outlets.

Both sides will further carry out cooperation in supply chain financing, bonded building materials, warehousing, logistics and distribution channels.

At present, the company has opened more than 50 outlets in over 30 Chinese cities including Beijing, Shanghai, Shenzhen and Guangzhou, with an annual sales value of more than 5 billion yuan ($766 million).

Lianglu-Cuntan boasts an international port near Chongqing, covering an area of 2.45 square kilometers in LNA. It is poised to be a first tier industrial base for all kinds of trade and commerce.
