5G rail transit lab launched in Chongqing

A lab focusing on the application of 5G in rail transit was co-established on Aug 24 by China Mobile's Chongqing branch, Chongqing Rail Transit (Group) Co, China Mobile Shanghai Industrial Research Institute and Bwton Technology Co in Southwest China's Chongqing municipality.
Once launched, the four sides will focus on R&D, project operation, technical specifications, construction standards and application of 5G intelligent rail transit.
According to Chongqing Rail Transit Co, the cooperation will promote 5G network coverage on Chongqing's subway system and the innovative application of 5G technology in frequency communication, the internet of things and intelligent operation.
According to China Mobile's Chongqing branch, the lab will establish a service network integrated with a wireless network and a transportation network, and construct a 5G intelligent transportation demonstration project.
In the future, China Mobile's Chongqing branch will keep focusing on new, 5G-oriented infrastructure construction and accelerate the integration of big data, cloud computing, the internet of things and artificial intelligence with the real economy.
