In response to the recent resurgence of COVID-19, Liangjiang New Area has formulated emergency plans to contain the further spread of the virus.

Many special sessions have been held since Nov 2 by Duan Chenggang, secretary of the Chongqing Liangjiang New Area Party Work Committee, to guide pandemic prevention and control efforts.

Officials at the Liangjiang Coronavirus Prevention and Control Headquarters awaited orders for 24 hours and worked until midnight. Their duties included personnel transfers, material supply, risk management, nucleic acid testing, and publicizing virus control measures.

Under their instruction, 30 vehicles and 30 drivers were recruited for emergency use to offer transportation services for eight sub-districts under the direct administration of Liangjiang.

Supermarkets, hotels, gas stations and other places were checked out in terms of their necessity supplies.

Authorities and officials from train stations, hospitals and sub-districts in the new area were ordered to jointly carry out disinfection and testing.
