Starting Nov 28, passengers have a new way to check flight information at Shanghai Pudong International Airport (PVG). PVG has officially released its Apple app "Shanghai Pudong Airport." IPhone or iPad users can download the app by searching "Shanghai Pudong Airport" from the Apple App Store free of charge.

The app closely integrates departure and arrival procedures in the airport and provides holistic information to passengers, including dynamic flight information, route guidance information, airport facilities, related regulations and policies, shopping, dining and other information.

Improved Flight Information Functions

Compared to third-party aviation information apps in China, PVG’s app directly connects to the airport's database to provide more comprehensive and timely information. It greatly facilitates the checking of flight information at PVG through smartphones and mobile devices.

Feature I: check the flight information to/from Pudong airport on the same day or next day

Feature II: check departure flight check-in and boarding time and the check-in counter numbers and boarding gates. In the past, passengers could only get the information after arriving at the airport by checking the display screens and boarding passes. However, by using the app, passengers can get the information before arriving at the airport. This can help passengers save a lot of time and plan their journey in advance.

Feature III: provides maps to advise travelers on the fastest routes. With the unique map provided by this official app, even a first-time visitor to PVG can easily find the check-in counters from the nearest gates. After checking in, the app will show the route to the gate on the map and advise passengers on the shortest routes.

After opening the app, users can add the flights they are going to take or they want to check in the "My Flight" tab. This app provides other useful information as well, such as airport ground transportation, weather conditions, airport service, and frequently asked questions. The map provided by the app indicates facility locations, such as shops, restaurants, post offices, ATM machines and Lost and Found counters.
