New Australian flag proposed

A new national flag has been proposed in Australia that would incorporate the Union flag and the Aboriginal (土著的) flag amid a new push to "move on" from the country's British heritage, The Daily Telegraph of London reported. Dr John Blaxland, a military historian from the Australian National University, designed the flag, saying he hoped to capture all aspects of the country's history, including its Aboriginal heritage, its colonial past and multiculturalism. The proposal for a new flag comes amid a renewed push for a republic led by Wayne Swan, the deputy prime minister of Australia.
