Guests can enjoy a unique selection of therapies as well as gaining treasured knowledge passed down through generations of Chinese medical practitioners and local Maldivian healers.

Lim Chin Yen, a Malaysian Chinese doctor of Traditional Chinese Medicine(TCM), grew up in a family with a medical background and is in charge of the TCM spa treatments on the island.

TCM, which encompasses many different practices including acupuncture, cupping, herbalism and dietary therapy, is rooted in the ancient philosophy of Taoism and dates back more than 5,000 years. Doctor Lim invites guests to immerse themselves in the secret wisdom of this healing art, embarking upon a journey of renewal and regeneration.

Alongside acupuncture, cupping and Tuina (massage) treatments, guests can choose from a selection of four raw bird’s nest products. The unique ingredients in a bird’s nest, called the epidermal growth factor, are known to encourage a youthful complexion, manage skin irritation and speed up tissue repair.

Guests may also enjoy a complimentary Tai Chi session. A technique that promotes wellbeing for both the body and mind, gentle coordinated body movements focus on the cultivation of internal energy “qi”’, with the aim of harmonizing mind, body and spirit to help individuals feel more relaxed and healthy. Perfect for guests of all ages, Tai Chi does not rely on strength, force or speed unlike many other forms of physical exercise and sport.

Additionally, traditional Maldivian Treatments are also available at the Spa, indulging in the ancient wisdom of local Divehi. A medical therapy called “Dhivehi beys verikan” combines traditional herbalism with age-old bodywork techniques and has been practiced by islanders over the centuries. It brings guests closer to the local atoll customs. Part of the proceeds from each traditional Maldivian Treatment is donated to charity, helping to support island community initiatives.
