HKSAR sets up organizing committee of 15th National Games
HONG KONG -- The Hong Kong Special Administrative Region (HKSAR) government on Tuesday announced the setting up of the Hong Kong organizing committee of China's 15th National Games, which will be jointly-hosted by Guangdong, Hong Kong and Macao in 2025.
The HKSAR organizing committees for the 12th National Games for Persons with Disabilities (NGD) and the 9th National Special Olympic Games (NSOG) were also established.
Chan Kwok-ki, chairman of the committee and chief secretary for administration of the HKSAR government, said it is very meaningful for Hong Kong to co-host the National Games with Guangdong and Macao.
He said it will also deepen the collaboration between Hong Kong and other cities in the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area, and go in line with the objective of building a healthy Bay Area.
The quadrennial National Games is China's highest level and largest national multi-sports event. This is the first time for Hong Kong to be a co-host of the National Games.
