Greetings sent to Polish president on his election
President Xi Jinping on Friday sent congratulations to Karol Nawrocki on his election as Polish president, pledging to work together with his Polish counterpart to promote the long-term and steady development of the comprehensive strategic partnership to benefit the two peoples, and contribute further to global stability and certainty.
Poland was one of the first countries to recognize and establish diplomatic relations with the People's Republic of China.
Noting that the two countries enjoy a traditional friendship and are comprehensive strategic partners, Xi said that China and Poland have been respecting each other and treating each other as equals since the establishment of diplomatic ties 76 years ago.
Mutually beneficial cooperation in various areas between the two countries has also yielded fruitful outcomes, he said.
Xi said he attaches great importance to the development of China-Poland ties, adding that the two countries should further deepen political mutual trust and enhance strategic communication in a turbulent world.
Since 2005, Poland has maintained its position as China's largest trading partner in Central and Eastern Europe. In 2024, the trade volume between China and Poland reached $44.95 billion, data from the Foreign Ministry showed. In June 2024, China implemented a unilateral visa-free policy for Polish citizens.
